CALGARY — Two Kamloops Blazers have made Team Canada for the 2022 World Junior Hockey Championship tournament, again.

In a news release, Hockey Canada announced that Blazers co-captain and Kamloops local Logan Stankoven and goaltender Dylan Garand will play for Canada Aug. 9 to 20, 2022, in Edmonton, Alta.

Both Stankoven and Garand were on Team Canada prior to the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) cancelling the tournament in December 2021 due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases. Stankoven scored a goal in the one game he suited up – an 11-2 win over Austria – while Garand stopped 14 of 17 shots in a 6-3 win over Czechia.
