Wildfires near Ashcroft classified as “out of control”
UPDATE (July 31, 1 p.m.): The smaller wildfire is classed as under control.
ASHCROFT — Two wildfires located South of Ashcroft have been upgraded to “out of control,” according to the BC Wildfire Service.
The fires labeled Cornwall Creek and Minaberriet Creek started Thursday (July 28) night and the Kamloops Fire Centre was made aware of them and sent crews to the area.
Air tankers, helicopters, and heavy equipment were sent to the fire areas in an attempt to diffuse the blazes.
