LYTTON, B.C. —BC Hydro says crews have rebuilt and re-energized a section of a power line that was lost to the Nohomin Creek wildfire near Lytton in mid-July.

In a news release Friday (July 29), BC Hydro says the fire burned down 60 power poles, damaged power lines and transformer banks, and interrupted power to 112 customers in the area.

BC Hydro says electricity service has now been restored to all customers, except in cases where structures were lost or significantly damaged. The Crown electric utility says it will continue to work with those customers and reconnect service when the customers are ready.

As of Friday, the Nohomin Creek wildfire is measured at around 2,660 hectares.
