Clearwater emergency department temporarily closing Friday night

CLEARWATER — The emergency department at the hospital in Clearwater will once again be closed overnight.
Residents are being told that the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital’s emergency department will be on diversion from 6 p.m. tonight until 7 a.m. tomorrow (July 30) as a result of limited staffing availability.
Interior Health says if residents need emergency care while the department is closed, they should call 9-1-1, call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1, or go to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
