‘It’s not too late’: RCMP renew request for information on missing Merritt man

KAMLOOPS — Tk’emlups Rural RCMP are renewing their request for information on a 44-year-old Merritt man who disappeared nine years ago.

RCMP say Dean Kelly Morrison left his contract painting job at Stump Lake Ranch on Oct. 22, 2013, and never returned home. Police are hoping someone knows information that could help bring closure to Morrison’s family.

“Over the years we have maintained contact with Dean’s family, who sadly still don’t have any concrete answers about the disappearance of their loved one,” S/Sgt. Bill Wallace, Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment Commander says. “If you know what happened to Dean or have information that could be related to this investigation and haven’t shared it with us yet, it’s not too late. Not knowing what’s happened to a loved one can create an unmeasurable void for any family.”

The last official search for Dean occurred in 2019 when Search and Rescue covered new and previously explored areas in and around Stump Lake, south of Kamloops.

Anyone with information about Dean Morrison’s disappearance is asked to contact Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
