Emergency department at Clearwater hospital closing temporarily ahead of long weekend

CLEARWATER — People living in the Clearwater area are being warned of another emergency department closure ahead of the B.C. Day long weekend.

In a release this afternoon (July 27), Interior Health says care at the emergency department will ‘go on diversion’ at 6 p.m this evening until 7 a.m. Friday (July 29), due to limited staffing availability.

Residents are reminded that if they require emergency care while the department is closed they should call either 9-1-1, call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1, or visit the emergency department at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
