Lillooet residents advised of mid-week closure of hospital’s emergency department

LILLOOET — People living in the Lillooet area are being warned that the emergency department at the Lillooet Hospital will be briefly closed starting tomorrow.
In a release, Interior Health (IH) says emergency department care at the hospital will be on diversion between 8 a.m Wednesday (July 27), and 8 a.m Thursday (July 28), as a result of limited physician availability.
Residents are being told to call 9-1-1 if they need emergency care, visit the emergency department at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, or to call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 if they’re unsure of what level of care they need.
