KAMLOOPS — After initially being called to a disturbance on Friday morning (July 22), Kamloops RCMP say a local man has been charged with 10 offences related to stolen property.

In a release, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says around 7:15 a.m Friday, police responded to Howe and Balmoral Roads, where a man was arguing with a person who was allegedly in possession of his stolen property.

Evelyn says officers arrived on scene, and found several items – including missing wallets and identification – before arresting a suspect, and holding him for court.

“As part of the investigation, police located other items, leading to a series of charge recommendations and approvals,” Cpl. Evelyn says.

RCMP say Nicholas Marcel Benallick, age 39, of Kamloops, is charged with 10 offences.

These include: attempt to break and enter into a residence; loiter at night; forgery; possession of stolen property; possession of identification documents belonging to other people; and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Benallick was held for a bail hearing today (July 26), where he received a release order until his next scheduled court date on August 4, 2022.
