KAMLOOPS — Kamloops NorthPaws’ Jackson Forbes was the hero of the night in Friday’s (July 22) extra-inning win over the Nanaimo NightOwls.

In a thriller of a game, Kamloops found themselves down in the ninth inning. Tommy Green then tied the game for the Paws after hitting a two-run home run.

NightOwls’ Garret Ostrander responded at the top of the extra inning when he found a gap between first and second to take a 7-5 lead for the visitors.

“Daniel Martin struck out for the second out of the inning, and then Ty Siffermann was the second batter of the inning to be hit by a pitch, scoring Villeneuve to trim the lead to 7-6,” the NorthPaws release reads.

Forbes stepped up to the plate with the score 7-6 and hit a single to score two runs to lift Kamloops to another walk-off home win.

The second game of the weekend series then follows at 6:35 p.m. and tickets are required and will be played as a normal game in the series.
