KAMLOOPS — The final linger flood advisory in the Kamloops area is over.

The B.C. River Forecast Centre (BCRFC) ended its high streamflow advisory for the South Thompson River. It comes about a week after advisories ended for the North Thompson River on July 12 and the Thompson River from Kamloops to Spences Bridge on July 15.

In an update Wednesday afternoon (July 20), BCRFC says flows in the South Thompson are expected to drop below a two-year return period over the next two days. Flows are expected to continue receding with warmer temperatures and dry weather in the forecast following high levels for the past six weeks.

The primary flood risk through the summer will be from potential localized thunderstorm activity.
