KAMLOOPS — A cyclist who allegedly didn’t stop for police in Valleyview got hit with some extra charges over the weekend.

In a news release, Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says an officer was patrolling at about 1:00 a.m. along the East Trans Canada Highway when he saw a man riding a bike with no helmet or lights.

When the officer tried to stop the cyclist, he allegedly refused and rode away. He was later arrested.

“An investigation that followed led to the seizure of a compressed air handgun as well as suspected break-in instruments, resulting in additional charge recommendations,” said Cpl. Evelyn.
