RCMP, KFR looking into suspicious fires along Yellowhead Highway

KAMLOOPS — RCMP and Kamloops Fire Rescue are investigating a pair of suspicious fires near Sun Rivers.

The two fires were ignited mid-morning just off Highway 5 near Shuswap Road on the Tk’emlups reserve.

Kamloops Fire Rescue’s Kevin Cassidy notes one fire started about 30 metres from the other. Cassidy notes wind could have aided the spread.

Investigators are trying to determine whether the fires were accidental or intentionally set.
