Semi-automatic rifle, other weapons and drugs seized from vehicle on North Shore

KAMLOOPS — A loaded semi-automatic rifle, a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition and cash and drugs were seized by Kamloops RCMP on Canada Day.
In a news release issued Thursday (July 7), RCMP say they attended a parking lot on the 700-block of Tranquille Road for a report of a suspicious man in a car. The vehicle had been reported previously as taken without consent.
The man, the sole occupant of the car, was detained by police for investigation, then later arrested and released with charge recommendation anticipated following the investigation’s conclusion.
