Kamloops man facing charges after downtown assault, robbery Sunday
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops is facing a series of charges after an alleged robbery and assault in the downtown Sunday morning (July 3).
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says members were called to Fourth Avenue and Victoria Street Sunday morning at about 10:25. Several people told officers an armed man had attacked and robbed another man before fleeing on foot.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment on non-life threatening injuries.
“Police located the suspect on a pedestrian bridge and arrested him,” said Evelyn. “Thanks to the assistance of a civilian, who helped direct police to the suspect’s location, and the quick response of the frontline officers, the suspect was safely taken into custody without incident.”
