BLUE RIVER, B.C. — The B.C. River Forecast Centre (BCRFC) has placed the Blue River on flood warning.
It is the second B.C. waterway to be upgraded to flood warning stage, joining the Quesnel River, which was placed on flood warning earlier Wednesday (June 22).
The BCRFC says rainfall over the past 24 hours has been heaviest in the Clearwater and Blue River areas, in addition to the Cariboo Mountains, with between 20 and 50 millimetres of rain having fallen already. More rain is expected into Thursday.
Most of the rivers in the Cariboo and Thompson regions remain on flood watch, including the North and South Thompson, and Shuswap-region tributaries.
