Two men arrested after hand gun shown outside Merritt school

MERRITT, B.C. — Two men are in custody after a hand gun was reportedly brandished outside of Merritt Secondary School (MSS) Monday (June 20) afternoon.
Merritt RCMP said they were called to MSS shortly after 3 p.m. and the school immediately went into lockdown.
“We recognize how terrifying an incident like this is for all involved, including parents,” Sgt. Josh Roda says. “Please be assured we put our children’s lives above all else and will do everything we can to keep them safe.”
According to police, both suspects were found quickly and are currently being held in custody.
