Friday afternoon collision between semi, SUV near Kamloops believed to be serious: RCMP

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: B.C. Emergency Health Services says three ground ambulances were dispatched to the scene of the crash.

One person has been transported to hospital in critical condition.

Drive BC says the highway is closed in both directions at that location.

EARLIER: Emergency responders are on scene of a serious crash just south of Kamloops.

It’s believed the crash took place at about 2:35 p.m., along the southbound Highway 5 at Sugarloaf Road.

BC RCMP spokesman Sgt. Chris Manseau says the crash involves a small SUV and a semi truck. Injuries are unknown.

Manseau says the southbound highway is expected to be delayed in that location.
