RCMP seek suspect after downtown Kamloops stabbing
KAMLOOPS — RCMP are looking for a suspect after a man was stabbed in downtown Kamloops last week.
At about 2:35 a.m. on Friday (June 3), a Mountie was patrolling around Victoria Street and Fourth Avenue when he was flagged down and directed to a man who had been assaulted with a weapon.
The man was taken to hospital suffering from stab and slash wounds believed to be non-life threatening.
“While officers were responding, a man nearby was confrontational with police and interfering with the investigation,” said detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn. “He was arrested for obstruction and lodged in cells to sober up safely.”
