Sicamous mobile home park on evacuation alert as forecast rainfall causes landslide threat
SICAMOUS, B.C. — The District of Sicamous issued an evacuation alert for the Sicamous Creek Mobile Home Park Friday (June 3) morning.
In an alert posted by the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), all residences No. 1 through 27 – 5 Highway 97A are under alert due to the threat of a landslide near Wiseman Creek that can cause danger to life, health, or property. The threat is due to forecast rainfall.
(Columbia Shuswap Regional District).An evacuation alert is meant to give residents time to be ready for a possible evacuation. The CSRD says residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation although they may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
