VERNON, B.C. — An arrest has been made in connection with the discovery of a deceased man on 6 Mile Creek Rd. on Okanagan Indian Band land.

The body was discovered on May 29, 2022, and the Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) took over the investigation.

On June 2, the investigation led to the arrest of 60-year-old Peter Michael Visintainer, who was charged with the second degree murder of Wolf-Ingo Rudolf Beyer.

Visintainer was remanded into custody until his next court appearance.

The RCMP determined that a unique vehicle belong to the victim, and the whereabouts following the homicide remain of interest to investigators.

“Investigators are working to determine the whereabouts of the truck from approximately 5:00 p.m. on May 29, 2022, until approximately 10:15 a.m. on May 30, 2022” said Inspector Brent Novakoski, Southeast District Senior Investigating Officer of the BC RCMP Major Crime Section.

“The vehicle may have been driving erratically or below the speed limit, and this may trigger the public’s memory of the vehicle.”

The truck is a 2000 white, two-door, one-ton Chevrolet flat-deck pickup truck. It has large after-market silver mirrors and distinctive mud-flaps with ‘WOLF’ written on them.

“The vehicle is believed to have been in the West Kelowna, Kelowna, Armstrong, Enderby and Vernon areas,” Novakoski added.

Anyone who encountered the truck, or has dashcam or surveillance footage of the vehicle on those days is asked to call the SED MCU at 1-877-987-8477.
