Weekend for Kamloops RCMP includes drilled gas tank, hit and run, recovered motorcycle

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 400 calls for service from midnight Friday (May 27) to 9:00 a.m. on Monday (May 30). Below are some highlights from those reports.

Drilled gas tank

A truck in Dallas had its gas tank drilled out early Saturday afternoon which spilled gas all over a parking lot.

RCMP say the drilling involving the parked truck on Andover Crescent is believed to have occurred sometime before 7:00 a.m. Saturday.

Anyone who witnessed the drilling, or has video capturing the theft, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.

Downtown hit and run

RCMP are investigating a hit-and-run in downtown Kamloops early Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 400-block of Lansdowne Street for two people running around with a knife before leaving in a westbound black Honda Civic.

An officer located the car in a parking lot on Columbia Street and attempted to stop it, but it backed into another vehicle and fled.

The investigation is ongoing.

Stolen motorcycle recovered

A motorcycle reported stolen from Chancellor Drive in September, 2020 was recovered at a motel on Friday night.

An officer patrolling the area of Columbia Street and Nicola Street when he came across the motorcycle he recognized to be stolen.

No license plate was attached to the bike.
