Blazers win OT thriller Friday, lead series 3-2

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers lead the Western Hockey league (WHL) Western Conference Finals 3-2 over the Seattle Thunderbirds after their 4-3 overtime win Friday (May 28).

Dylan Kuefler starred in his role in the win scoring twice including the OT game-winner and adding an assist as well. Kuefler adds to his post-season point total which now sits at 15.

Fraser Minten had two assists on the night and Connor Levis had a goal and an assist. Matthew Seminoff added the other goal for the Blazers.

Early on in the game, Seattle put the pressure on Kamloops scoring the first goal not even two minutes into the first period.

The Blazers followed shortly after tying up the game at one goal each.

Both teams traded goals the next two periods leaving the game tied at 3-3 heading into an extra frame.

Kuefler was the hero for the Blazers putting away the rebound off of the Fraser Minten shot in OT.

Kamloops hits the road once again to play Game 6 in Seattle on Sunday (May 29).

Puck drop is at 5:05 p.m. Pacific.
