MERRITT, B.C. — A Merritt man won a B.C. record of $400,052 playing Keno.

According to British Columbia Lottery Corporation, Patrick Lamour couldn’t believe his eyes after scanning his Keno ticket that he purchased from the Merritt Shell station on DeWolf Way.

“I was at the store checking the ticket and I thought something was wrong with the machine,” Lamour recalls. “I scanned it at a self-checker and then had the retailer scan it as well to be sure. I called my daughter and son right away. They were more excited than I was.”

Lamour plans to have a celebratory meal with his kids and will gift them part of his prize. He says he will take his time figuring out what to do with the rest.
