Former B.C. attorney general, entrepreneur alum among TRU honorary degree recipients

KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University has announced its six honorary doctorate recipients for this year’s spring convocation.

Wally Oppal, George Henry Erasmus and Adam Miron will be conferred with Honorary Doctorates of Laws.

Oppal is a former B.C. attorney general and TRU chancellor. He is a respected former judge and champion of justice reform. Erasmus is a longtime Indigenous leader and advocate for reconciliation. Miron is an entrepreneur and author. The TRU alumnus has started more than 15 companies since graduating, including the online news outlet iPolitics and the cannabis company HEXO.

Tom Allen and Anne and Roland Neave will be conferred with Honorary Doctorates of Letters.
