LILLOOET, B.C. — A human skull found just outside the Village of Lytton on March 9, 2016, has been identified.
In a news release issued Wednesday (May 25), Lillooet RCMP say they determined in April, 2022 that the remains were identified to be those of someone reported missing in 2005.
Police say the BC Coroners Service DNA database determined both profiles from the person missing in 2005 and the skull found in 2016 were a match.
RCMP say criminality is not suspected in the case, and there were no aspects of the two cases that would have given investigators any indication that they were related.
