Kamloops has a new millionaire after Lotto 6/49 draw

KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man and his wife were scrolling through their inbox and noticed an email notifying them they had won a prize: $1 million.
Greg Gauthier purchased his Lotto 6/49 ticket from PlayNow.com for the May 7 draw. He and his wife first shared the news with their children.
“Our first reaction was, ‘That is too many zeroes,’” Gauthier says. “My biggest feeling was that I can now look into the future and put my kids and grandson in a great place. I’m able to make life easier for my family and I really enjoy helping out.”
Gauthier says he plans to celebrate the win over a family dinner. He also looks forward to taking a trip to the east coast and perhaps somewhere hot.
