Blazers fall 4-1 in Game 2 to Thunderbirds, series tied 1-1

KAMLOOPS — The best-of-seven series between the Kamloops Blazers and the Seattle Thunderbirds is now tied at 1-1.

Seattle earned a 4-1 win over the Blazers Saturday (May 21) at the Sandman Centre to even the series in the Western Conference Finals in the 2022 Western Hockey League (WHL) playoffs.

Although the Blazers outshot the Thunderbirds, Seattle’s Goalie Thomas Milicic, stopped 40 of the 41 shots.

Over 4,000 fans were in attendance for Saturday’s Thunderbird victory sending the series back to Seattle.

Thunderbirds’ Lucas Ciona contributed to the win with a goal and an assist marking his 10th point of the playoffs.

On the Blazers side, Logan Stankoven scored early adding to his postseason total once again but proved to be not enough.

Game 3 and Game 4 of the series will go in Seattle on Tuesday, May 24, and on Wednesday, May 25.

Puck drop for both games is at 7:05 p.m.
