FALKLAND, B.C. — The population of Falkland will grow this long weekend as the small community bounces back from the pandemic.

The 102nd Falkland Stampede will be held from Saturday to Monday (May 21 to 23) at the rodeo grounds just off Highway 97 between Vernon and Kamloops.

The last two years of rodeo were cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The three-day event features bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, trick riders and professional rodeo clown Dennis Halstead.

Tim Edge of Mountain Edge Productions returns as the voice of the stampede.

“Thank you to all of the sponsors who have come on board this year to support our great comeback,” said a posting on the stampede’s Facebook page.

Ticket prices range from $13.75 to $54.06.

You can buy tickets and find out more here.

Pets are permitted within the rodeo grounds but not the grandstands. All pets must be on a leash and the owner must pick up and dispose of their waste immediately.
