A Kamloops man was arrested Friday night after riding a bike with a billy club in hand.

RCMP say an officer stopped the man at Fortune Drive near the mall access, but the man then allegedly attempted to flee. The officer was able to stop and arrest him for possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes.

Police say a subsequent search located a large, concealed knife, scalpel-style knife and imitation firearm. All were seized for destruction and the man was released on scene.

Anyone who witnessed or has information to the alleged stabbing is asked to call Kamloops RCMP.
