Patient flown to hospital after three-vehicle collision on Highway 1 west of Sicamous

SICAMOUS, B.C. — At least one patient was taken to hospital via air ambulance helicopter after a collision on the Trans Canada Highway west of Sicamous.
BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) confirmed they received a report shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (May 18) of an incident four kilometres west of Bernie Road on Highway 1 between two semi trucks and another vehicle. BCEHS says two primary care ground ambulances and one air ambulance responded.
DriveBC reported that the stretch of Highway 1 closed in both directions shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. It re-opened nearly two hours later at 10 p.m.
