Ashcroft RCMP asking public for dashcam footage to find cause of Juniper Knoll wildfire

ASHCROFT, B.C. — Ashcroft RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance regarding the ongoing investigation into the cause of the Juniper Knoll fire that occurred on Tuesday.
Police say they are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire and are now requesting that anyone with dashcam footage who was driving on Highway 1 between Walhachin and Cache Creek on May 17, between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., to provide that footage to investigators.
Cpl. Lloyd Pinsent says the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
The BC Wildfire Service says the three-hectare fire was suspected to be human caused.
