Small wildfire ignites east of Cache Creek off Trans Canada Highway

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — The B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) is dealing with a small wildfire in a very visible location west of Kamloops Tuesday afternoon (May 17).
The fire has popped up right beside the Trans Canada Highway east of Cache Creek, near the turnoff to Juniper Beach Provincial Park.
BCWS says the fire measures five hectares and there are 10 personnel on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
At 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, Drive BC reported traffic was being stopped to allow firefighting crews to work.
