Kamloops crews ramping up line painting, large road repairs as weather warms
KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops says cooler temperatures this spring led to delays in street sweeping, and line painting. And crews are still working to prep Kamloops’ streets for summer driving.
According to Streets and Environmental Services Manager Glen Farrow, the bulk of the city’s street sweeping is completed now, and line painting has begun. Westsyde and Brocklehurst areas will be first, then the downtown core and up into Sahali and Aberdeen areas. Long line painting will also start in the next couple of weeks.
“That’ll make a huge difference for us in making clearer road markings throughout the city. And even that splash of paint makes the asphalt look a little bit better,” he adds, “We’ve done a lot of potholing, a lot of smaller asphalt repairs. But from now until the snow flies, we will be doing those larger asphalt repairs.”
