Cyclist seriously injured after collision with commercial truck on Highland Road

KAMLOOPS — A cyclist was rushed to hospital with serious injuries Wednesday afternoon (May 11) after being struck by a commercial truck along Highland Road.
In a news release, RCMP say the incident took place around 3:00 p.m. Emergency responders were called to a utility access road off Highland for the collision between a male cyclist and commercial vehicle.
The rider was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with serious injuries.
Traffic was stopped for about an hour while investigators assessed the scene. It reopened to single-lane, alternating traffic just before 4:00 p.m.
