Potential flurries for Coquihalla Summit again: Environment Canada
KAMLOOPS — For the second day in a row, Environment Canada is advising travellers in the Nicola, Shuswap, and Columbia regions of potential flurries on local highways.
In a special weather statement issued Tuesday (May 10) morning, Environment Canada says there’s the potential for flurries over the high elevation mountain pass on the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt.
While light flurries are expected to continue near the Coquihalla Summit, the weather agency says bouts of heavier flurries are possible but will be brief and localized. Cool and unsettled conditions are expected to keep snow levels at or below the summit level.
Further east, Environment Canada says the Trans Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass will see light flurries along the highest elevation sections, but brief and localized stretches of heavier flurries are also possible. Snow levels are expected to be at or below the pass level.
