New playgrounds, utility upgrades, buses announced for Kamloops schools
KAMLOOPS — A pair of Kamloops elementary schools will be outfitted with fully accessible playgrounds.
The province’s Ministry of Education is adding accessible playgrounds to Ralph Bell Elementary School — slated to reopen for classes this fall — and Heffley Creek Elementary School.
Each playground is valued at $165,000. The Kamloops schools are two of 30 B.C. schools getting the ministry-funded playgrounds.
Meantime, the Kamloops-Thompson School District has announced Sa-Hali Secondary, Westsyde Secondary and South Kamloops Secondary have all been approved for HVAC upgrades, while NorKam Senior Secondary is getting an electrical upgrade from the province.
