High streamflow advisory issued for parts of BC
CARIBOO REGION — The River Forecast Centre has issued a High Streamflow Advisory for the Watersheds in the Middle Fraser/Cariboo region, and a flood watch was issued for Moffat Creek.
As British Columbia is reaching more seasonal temperatures, it has resulted in the melt of existing low to mid-elevation snow within parts of the Cariboo.
“This melt, combined with scattered precipitation that has fallen in recent days, has resulted in a rise within especially smaller watersheds at these low to mid-elevations,” the release reads.
This advisory does not include larger systems with more watershed area at higher elevations where the snowpack has started to melt.
