KAMLOOPS — In game two of their second-round playoff series, the Kamloops Blazers squeaked out a win against the visiting Vancouver Giants 4-3 Saturday (May 7) night.

With 4,192 fans in attendance at the Sandman Centre, the Blazers held on to the lead throughout the final period to win the game.

As time was ticking down at the end of the game, Blazers goalie Dylan Garand was able to stop every shot after the Giants pulled their goalie.

Blazers’ Logan Stankoven added two more points to his playoff tally. He now has 16 points in six playoff games in 2022, which is equivalent to 2.6 points per game.

Giants goalie Jesper Vikman on the other hand seemed to make stop after stop in crunch time but it wasn’t enough to win the game. Vikman saved 35 of the Blazers’ 39 shots on the night.

The Blazers are now up 2-0 in the second-round series against Vancouver. Game three of their series goes on Tuesday as Kamloops hits the road toward Langley.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at the Langley Events Centre.
