Kamloops RCMP say man whose photo was distributed as person of interest cleared of wrongdoing

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a man whose photograph was distributed as a person of interest in a suspicious act near an elementary school was not involved in criminal activity.
On Thursday (May 5), RCMP distributed a photo of a man who witnesses reported was taking photos of children behind a bush. The incident happened on Bank Road in Westsyde, not far from Arthur Stevenson Elementary.
Friday, RCMP released a brief statement noting the man has been identified.
Investigators have determined “there was no criminal act and… no photographs (were) taken.”
