SAVONA, B.C. — The first high streamflow advisory of the 2022 spring freshet season in the Kamloops area has been issued for the Deadman River.

In a bulletin issued Thursday afternoon (May 5), the B.C. River Forecast Centre (BCRFC) says snowmelt and rainfall over the past few days has caused the Deadman to rise.

With additional rain expected until the weekend, and BCRFC models suggest that could lead to a 10-year rate of flow.

The BCRFC notes last year’s wildfire activity may also impact the runoff.
