Morning crash near Walmart killed woman, not believed to be criminal: Kamloops RCMP

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a crash that killed a woman near the Walmart complex Thursday morning (May 5) was not criminal in nature and may have been related to a medical issue.

Investigators say a car was travelling along Notre Dame Drive just before 8:30 a.m. Thursday when it left the road and crashed near the southwest building in the Walmart plaza.

RCMP say the female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Based on the preliminary evidence collected by the Kamloops RCMP Municipal Traffic Unit and frontline officers, it does not appear the cause of the crash is criminal in nature,” said detachment spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn in a news release.
