Kamloops RCMP release photo of man who was apparently taking photos of children near school

KAMLOOPS — RCMP in Kamloops are warning the public after a man was spotted apparently taking photos of children near a Westsyde school.

In a news release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the incident took place Wednesday (May 4) at 1:20 p.m. on Bank Road. Arthur Stevenson Elementary is located on Bank Road.

Witnesses reported the man appeared to be taking photos of children from behind a bush.

When officers arrived, the man was gone.

“Luckily, a photo was captured of the man as he walked away, northbound on Gilbert Street,” said Evelyn. “Police are interested in identifying and speaking with the man to help further the investigation.”
