KAMLOOPS — A new, 44-unit social housing complex proposed for the Tranquille business district is moving one step closer to reality.

At its regular meeting Tuesday (May 3), council approved the housing agreement for the six-storey project. It will still need a development permit and building permit before construction can begin.

The building would feature office space on the main floor with a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom residential units above.

The residential units would be operated by Interior Community Services and subsidized through B.C. Housing.
