CLEARWATER, B.C. — Fifteen B.C. Wildfire Service personnel are on scene at a new wildfire that has ignited southeast of Clearwater.

Fire Information Officer Shaelee Stearns says the McDougall Forest Service Road fire is 2.5 hectares in size and burning Rank 1, throwing off white smoke.

Stearns says there is no need for heavy equipment or air support at this point because the fire behaviour is little more than smouldering on the surface.

She adds it will be easy to see.
