One person killed in motorcycle crash outside of Savona
SAVONA, B.C. — Kamloops RCMP say one person was killed yesterday (May 1) in a motorcycle crash outside of Savona.
In a news release, spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the crash took place near Tunkwa Lake Road and the Trans Canada Highway at about 1:40 p.m. Sunday.
RCMP have confirmed it was a single motorcycle crash with one rider, a man in his 70s, who died at scene.
Evelyn says initial investigation indicates the rider rounded a corner and lost control on gravel. A bystander stopped to help, but the rider could not be saved.
