Fire-devastated Lytton elects two new councillors

LYTTON, B.C. — The Village of Lytton has elected two new councillors.
In a weekend by-election, Melissa Michell (71 votes) and Ross Urquhart (66 votes) won the two vacant spots on council. They will join incumbents Mayor Jan Polderman, Councillor Ian Hay and Councillor Lilliane Graie.
Ernie Wagner was the unsuccessful candidate with 24 votes.
The vacancies on council were created with the resignations of Tiffany Callewaert-Haugen and Robert Leitch.
