COLLINS: Is COVID-19 still a problem or not?

Apr 17, 2022 | 11:58 AM

THE SHORT ANSWER IS “yes.” COVID is still around and will be for a while yet. A new wave is on its way and there’s no indication of how serious it might be.

Some experts have suggested that the situation has been exaggerated, other stories say it could be worse than Omicron, but not as bad as the original strains.

I guess what we’re saying is “we don’t have a clue.” And when we see that cases are increasing again, putting more pressure on our health care system, we must ask ourselves if we are heading in the right direction.

Did we give in to those who pushed to remove the mandates? Or was it time?

I among others will continue to wear my mask when I’m out in the community. My grandchildren continue to wear theirs in school.

There is no right or wrong here because health officials have said we don’t need the mandates anymore (at least until we do).

On the upside, I am sure that Christians around the world are enjoying a chance to celebrate Easter today, although many will still have to mask up.

It’s nice to get out and enjoy a walk in the park with the family, or go to a Blazers game.

We may pay a price for it in a few weeks, but let’s enjoy it while we can.

I’m Doug Collins and that’s One Man’s Opinion.
