Kamloops’ Gordie McKay makes BCHL’s 60th anniversary team

KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops native has been selected to the BC Hockey League’s 60th anniversary team.

Gordie McKay earned a selection to the all-time squad for his play with the Penticton Broncos/Vees franchise in the mid-seventies.

During his four seasons in the league (1973-77) McKay finished with 208 goals, the most all-time, and 376 points, second only to Shane Kuss.

His best statistical season came in 1976-77 when he posted 79 goals, the fourth-highest single-season mark.
