Man in custody after reported stabbing in 100 Mile House
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A 34-year-old Caucasian man, who 100 Mile House RCMP say is known to police, remains in custody after a reported stabbing in the town.
RCMP attended to the reported stabbing along Cedar Avenue near the Cariboo Garden Apartments late Thursday (April 7) afternoon. Police say a First Nations man had gone to hospital with a single stab wound and was being treated by hospital staff. The man described a brief altercation between he and the suspect, who was with a woman.
Officers continued patrols for the suspect and located him downtown near the intersection of Fourth Street and Birch Avenue at around 7:25 p.m.
Cariboo Garden Apartments management is assisting police with the investigation, but 100 Mile House RCMP are seeking witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456 or BC Crime Stoppers.
