Fire seen in Barnhartvale a permitted Category 3 open fire: BC Wildfire Service

KAMLOOPS — Flames in the Barnhartvale mountains that caught Kamloops residents’ eyes Tuesday (April 5) evening were described as a Category 3 open fire.

Aydan Coray, BC Wildfire Service Information Officer, told CFJC Today the property owner had a permit for the fire, so there was no response required.

Kamloops Fire Rescue also says they didn’t respond due to the fire being outside city limits.
